What information we publish
The directory contains business information: trading name, business address, business phone number, category, opening hours, and website/social links. Where a business is a sole trader or partnership, some of this may count as personal data under UK data protection law.
Where it comes from
We compile listings from each business’s own public sources — its website, Google Business Profile, social media pages, and Companies House. We record the source of each listing. We do not copy content from other directories.
Why we’re allowed to
We rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR): helping local customers find local businesses, and helping those businesses be found. We publish only business-facing contact details, we tell businesses they’ve been listed, and we remove any listing on request — we’ve assessed that this doesn’t override the rights of the individuals concerned. You can request a copy of this assessment.
Contacting you
If we hold contact details for your business, we may contact you once to let you know your listing exists and how to claim or remove it. We follow the PECR rules on electronic marketing: we don’t cold-email sole traders or partnerships, and every message we send identifies us and includes a way to opt out.
Your rights
You can ask us to: remove your listing (done within 48 hours), correct it, give you a copy of the data we hold, restrict or object to our use of it. Email hi@trusora.co.uk. You also have an absolute right to object to any direct marketing — one email and you’re on our do-not-contact list. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Accounts
If you register to claim a listing, we store the account details you provide (name, email, password — hashed). We use them only to run your account and listing. We don’t sell data. Ever.
Retention
Unclaimed listings are reviewed annually; removed listings go on a suppression list (minimum data only) so we don’t accidentally re-add you. Account data is deleted on request.
Cookies
The site uses essential cookies plus Google Analytics (GA4), which helps us understand how visitors use the directory. You can opt out at any time using Google’s browser opt-out add-on, or via your browser’s Do Not Track setting. No advertising cookies.
